Dwayne Day e-mailed that his second book, Lightning Rod, was due to be published in fall 2000. "With that in the bag, I just bought a sailboat and plan on sailing solo across the Atlantic." . . . Rochester baseball coach Bob Hartz '98S (MBA) and teacher Jeff Dinse have created a board game designed to help third- and fourth-graders prepare for New York's required exams. Called Master Guru, the game quizzes students on social studies, mathematics, science, and English. . . . Michael Henry and Brigid Brennan e-mail to announce the birth of their daughter, Ciara Marie, born May 14, 2000-Mother's Day. She weighed 8 lbs., 4 oz. and was 191/4 inches long. "Her big brother, Michael, loves the newest addition," they write. . . . Proud grandparents Jane '68 and Alan Batkin '66 forwarded an electronic photograph of the newest member in a family with long Rochester roots. Meliora-sporting William Daniel Knox is the son of Randal and Amy Batkin Knox, and the great-grandson of the late Selma Kahn Mintz '34. An uncle, Andrew Batkin '94, and a cousin, Eric Sills '89, also are Rochester graduates. . . . Gail Link writes to say that she married Marshall McCausland in March 2000 and that she is a partner in a periodontal practice in Winchester, Mass. . . . Paula Casey Metzler e-mails an update: "After marrying Eric Metzler on January 2, 1999, and becoming stepmom to now 8-year-old Matthew, I am overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter, Casey Marie, born on January 23, 2000. I have taken a break from practicing full-time law to be a stay-at-home mom and assist my husband with his busy family law practice in Rochester." . . . Kenneth Peyton (see '91). . . . Beverly Seidenberg married Elias Haidar on May 23, 1999, at Castle Hill in Ipswich, Mass., and sent along a photo. David Barber e-mails an update: He married Melissa Knapp in 1993 and they have two daughters, Meredith, 3, and Claire, 1. He received an M.B.A. from Union College in 1997 and Melissa is enrolled at the University of Connecticut law school, studying to become a patent attorney. . . . Dimitri Katsaros e-mails that he is currently in San Francisco pursuing an M.F.A. in 3-D animation at the Academy of Art College. . . . Michele Kucerak '97W (MS) e-mails that she married Meyer Stolberg on July 9, 2000. . . . Kenneth '90 and Deborah Gofas Peyton announce the birth of their daughter, Alison Ruth, on May 26, 2000. . . . Robert Reese sends an update: After a three-year teaching stint at prep schools in Georgia and Illinois, he joined his family's masonry construction business and is working toward his M.B.A. at the University of Chicago during the off-season. "I see Michelle Rieff and Mary Tweedie, both living in Chicago and doing well," he writes. "I hear that Patrick McHale will be teaching history at Canisius High School in Buffalo. Kim Indresana is off to Nepal soon to start shooting a documentary film. I would love to know how to get in touch with Bruce Pirger and Anderson Howat '92. And where is Hugh Flynn hiding these days?" . . . Michele Richard '97W (MS) married Meyer Stolberg on July 9, 2000, at Sonnenberg Gardens in Canandaigua, N.Y. Michele is a program manager at the Center for Optics Manufacturing at the University. The couple lives in Rochester. . . . Panorama, the debut recording by John Sneider, features Chris Potter, Larry Goldings, Bob Sneider '93, and David Gibson '95E (MM), as well as other musicians playing a selection of original and standard jazz compositions. Kristen Chimileski e-mails that she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital and is staying on for another year as chief resident. She noted last summer that she was engaged to childhood friend, Adam, and was planning a wedding for September. "I would love to hear from long-lost Rochester friends," she writes. Rebecca Cohen writes that as of September 2000, she is a minister for the Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church in Burke, Va., and is looking forward to an extended stay in the Washington, D.C. area. . . . Marc Firnstein (see '94). . . . John Lama sends an update: He and Kiyoko Taylor were married on September 2, 2000, and they live in Mill Valley, Calif., just north of San Francisco. Joseph Sargent has been named marketing and public relations manager for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. . . . Michael Wenger e-mails that he graduated from Columbia Law School and is working in the Manhattan office of the firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. His wife, Leah Tinsley Wenger, is working as a business analyst at Banc of America Securities and also attends New York University's part-time M.B.A. program. . . . Christine Cramer Binner and her husband, Tim, e-mail that they welcomed their new son, Clayton Alexander, on May 21, 2000. They live in Ann Arbor, Mich., where Christine is an account manager for Pfizer, Inc., and also is pursuing her M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. Tim is the general manager for Paragon Sight and Sound. . . . Andy Bishop e-mails that he married Linda Sampson, a graduate of Texas A&M, on February 12, 2000. They planned to move to Corpus Christi, where Linda will continue teaching and Andy will be an instructor pilot at the Naval Air Station there. Andy adds: "For LUSH, congratulations on your pregnancy! Best to your hubby and the rest of Mu Lambda!". . . Alexander Goldberg e-mails that he, Cheryl, and Kris have relocated to Greensboro, N.C., where he is a senior software engineer for Marconi Commerce Systems, Inc. . . . Tania Hedlund and Jonathan Rosenberg were married on October 10, 1999, in West Patterson, N.J., and sent along a photo. Scott Kradle married Kimberly Stalbird on June 24, 2000, in Chili, N.Y. Scott is manager of DiBella's restaurant in Penfield, N.Y. . . . Paul Loosmann is a regional leasing representative for Liberty Property Trust in Bethlehem, Pa. . . . Composer and saxophonist René Mogensen premiered a new work, Menneskeoffer, on Danish radio last summer. In October 1999, he premiered Spring Decomposition as the composer-in-residence at the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College in California. And his electroacoustic work Autumn Apparition was presented at the fifth Computer Music Festival in Seoul, South Korea. . . . Steven Moskowitz e-mails that he was engaged to Lisa Caldwell on the flanks of Mt. Rainier, where they met in 1999. They planned to move to New York in January, where Steven will work for IBM's microelectronics research and engineering division after he finishes his Ph.D. at the University of Washington . . . Livia Quan e-mailed that she was engaged to Alexander Aber with an August 2001 wedding planned in Boston, where she and Alexander are attorneys. . . . Andrew Silverstein e-mails that he has settled in Hampton, Va., where he is a veterinarian. . . . Kenneth Suzan joined the New York office of Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P., focusing on trademark litigation, trademark prosecution, intellectual property law, and Internet and new media law.

Paula Simon Adelman e-mails that she is pursuing a master's degree in health administration at St. Joseph's University and plans to finish in spring 2001. Her husband, Bob Adelman '95, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania dental school in May 2000 and is a practicing dentist in suburban Philadelphia. . . . Susan Banez married Sean Folger on May 13, 2000, in Toronto. Both are medical residents at Albert Einstein/Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia. . . . Sharon Ingram Chin and Martin Chin (PhD) e-mail news and a photo of their first child, Katherine Elizabeth, born on October 14, 2000. Sharon is an associate attorney at Redfern, Mason, Dieter, Larsen & Moore, P.L.C., and Martin is teaching chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa. . . . Andrea Elliot '96W (MS) married Robert Ament on August 19, 2000, in Rochester. Andrea is a social studies teacher for the Hilton (N.Y.) Central School District. . . . Pamela Malone e-mails to say that she has received her master's degree in education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is working as a research assistant at SUNY Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. . . . Marc '92 and Michelle Ludwigsen Firnstein '97W (MS) e-mail to report that they are the proud parents of Michael Edward, born on May 27, 2000. The couple lives in the Syracuse, N.Y., area. . . . Katrina Glogowski reports that she has moved into private practice and received the Washington State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award for 2000. Lori is a corporate attorney at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, L.L.P., in Boston and Keith returned full time to the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College last fall. Dennis Tucker e-mails that his comic strip Birdbun Theatre is gaining fans worldwide, resulting in syndication interest from newspapers and magazines across the U.S. and Canada. Martin Jakubiak e-mails that he is a member of the class of 2002 at the Atlantic Veterinary College of the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada. . . . Christy Van Dusen e-mails to say that she is working at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a business reporter, covering banking and small business. Darrin Hubert e-mails to announce his engagement to Jennifer Lenox '97. The couple has plans for a May 26 wedding in Fredonia, N.Y. . . . Suzanne Lehrer e-mails that she received her master's degree in piano performance in May 2000 from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J. She is teaching piano at the Westminster Conservatory as well as giving private lessons and continuing her own studies. In August 2000, she noted, "I just visited Tanya Anderson '95 in Japan and had a great time." . . . Kristin Lewis married Eben Norfleet '92 on October 16, 1999, in Rochester, and sent a photo. Her fiancé, Justin Nordstrom, received his master's degree in American history from Indiana University in Bloomington and is working on his doctorate. "Affirmative Action Scours Sincerity, Placing a Band-Aid to Heal Injustice Is No Solution," an essay by Daniel Berkowitz which first appeared in the Campus Times on March 25, 1999, is slated to be published in the fourth edition of America Now, a collection of readings from recent periodicals intended to spark student writing in freshman composition classes. . . . Michelle Kline '97 sent news and a photo from the wedding of Dana Quintana and Steven Burdick on July 15, 2000. Pictured are (left to right) Jeffrey Fox '98, Jessica Reddington, Steven, Dana, Michelle, and Dawn Roy, maid of honor. Michelle, who received her law degree from SUNY Buffalo in May, 2000, reports that Dana and Steven live in Albuquerque, N.M., where Dana works in the human resources department of Encore, Inc. Jeffrey is teaching math at Foxboro (Mass.) High School and is engaged to Jessica, who teaches American sign language at Foxboro High School. Dawn is pursuing her master's in English at SUNY Buffalo.
