Gary Fanning (Res) has written a book, Things I Didn’t Learn in Medical School: Tough Lessons from a Lifetime of Practice (Xlibris). Gary is a retired anesthesiologist and lives in Minnesota.

Joseph Martin (MD), ’96 (Honorary) has written a book, Alfalfa to Ivy: Memoir of a Harvard Medical School Dean (University of Alberta Press), about his journey from a farm village in Alberta, Canada, to Harvard, where he served as medical school dean from 1997 to 2007. The book offers a window into academic politics and health care in Canada and the United States.
