Rochester researchers and colleagues at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center are conducting a clinical trial to see whether the vaccine—which is unusual because it is being given in the form of a capsule rather than a shot—can prompt a more robust immune response against the virus that causes AIDS. The study, conducted in collaboration with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, began early this year.
