2024 Preventing Harassment and Discrimination Training

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Each year our University community participates in required training to strengthen our commitment to our values and reinforce the behaviors that foster an inclusive and respectful environment. We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Workplace Harassment and Discrimination Training, provided by New York State, will soon be available. This training aligns with our Meliora values, promotes equity and inclusion, and ensures a safe and welcoming workplace for all.

The Sexual Harassment Prevention training will be assigned in MyPath on July 17 and must be completed by December 31. It will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete and closed captioning will be provided. The training will also be accessible for screen readers and a transcript of the training materials is available within the module in 15 languages.

Since we are utilizing New York State’s training, the example scenarios described could occur in any workplace, therefore, what’s depicted in the training modules may be different from a University or Medical Center setting. In response to requests for further education in this area, several additional, optional learning opportunities are available to faculty and staff by searching for the keyword “Path2Inclusion” in MyPath.

We recognize that content on harassment and discrimination may be sensitive to some faculty and staff. If you have any questions or concerns about this training or need a special accommodation, please submit them via the feedback form on the Diversity website. For technical issues related to MyPath, please contact MyPath Support via the HR Service Desk.

Faculty and staff should review the Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment (PADH), which along with the form to report an incident of harassment and discrimination, is available on our website in 15 languages.

For more information and frequently asked questions about the training, visit the Office of Equity and Inclusion website.

Sincerely,
