Charles E. Phelps, University of Rochester provost and eminent health care economist, will retire after 13 years as the University’s chief academic officer at the end of this academic year, and a search committee has been formed to choose his successor.

The University of Rochester, one of the nation’s premier private research universities, seeks a provost to join its new president and newly formed leadership team in realizing an ambitious and exciting vision for the institution’s future. Reporting to and working closely with President Joel Seligman, the provost will be the chief academic officer of the University of Rochester, as well as a member of the University’s Senior Leadership Team.
