University of Rochester President Joel Seligman is chairing a national search process to identify a successor to C. McCollister Evarts, M.D., whose term ends June 30, 2006. Seligman leads a 15-member Search Committee composed of administrative and academic leaders from throughout the University and its Medical Center.
Assisting in the search will be four advisory committees:
- The University of Rochester Board of Trustees Advisory Committee
- Clinical/Affiliates Advisory Committee
- Research/Teaching Advisory Committee
- Student/Trainees Advisory Committee
“I seek for the Medical Center a person of the highest integrity, with a proven record of health care administration, and the ability to integrate the educational, research, clinical and community missions of URMC,” Seligman said. “The new leader will need to have the ability to complete and execute the new strategic plan, which, among other things, means he or she will need to be both a visionary and a consensus builder, someone able to work well within the University and within the Rochester community.”
Evarts has led the University of Rochester Medical Center since July of 2003. He has agreed to continue until June 30th or until a successor is chosen, whichever is later, to ensure a smooth transition.
