Resources to Evaluate Executive Orders and Federal Directives

Dear Members of the University community,

Like many in academic and health care organizations around the country, my leadership team and I continue to evaluate how newly announced directives from federal agencies and executive orders issued by the presidential administration will affect our work as students, faculty, and staff, as well as how they will impact the overall operations of the University.

In these early weeks, we are planning for how best to remain compliant with revised policies and executive actions. As I mentioned in an earlier message, our government relations team is doing an excellent job of keeping us informed and prepared, and University leaders are meeting regularly to evaluate specific implications for research, health care, academic affairs, and beyond.

To help our University community navigate the complexity of these changes, we have summarized agency-specific guidance, resources, and FAQs here: https://www.rochester.edu/newscenter/federal-policy-updates.

The site also features a form from which you can submit questions and concerns that are not addressed in other materials. The submissions will guide our efforts to address specific topics, and may result in topic-focused webinars, directions to contact relevant offices, further dissemination of information, or in limited cases, individual responses.

Understanding changes in federal policy and how the changes will impact our people, our operations, and our financial position is something we have always managed and will continue to do in the weeks and months ahead. I am confident that we are well-equipped to meet the challenges head on.
