Bulletin: October 19, 2021

At approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, a University undergraduate was the victim of an attempted robbery near the Towers Road side of the Hill Court Bridge. The student was approached by three individuals who attempted to take the victim’s backpack and then pushed them to the ground. A fellow student witnessed the incident and called DPS for assistance. The three individuals fled the area but were quickly located by DPS in the area of the tennis courts along Wilson Boulevard. The student was not injured and nothing was taken. The individuals are all juveniles and were released to the custody of their parents or the Rochester Police Department.

  • If you feel you or others are in danger, immediately call DPS at 585-275-3333, or if off-campus call 911.
  • Be alert to your surroundings. Trust your instincts. If something or someone makes you uneasy, tell someone, avoid the person or leave the area.
  • Walk-in pairs or with trusted companions, especially at night or in remote areas.  At night, walk on the lighted paths and sidewalks that have access to the Blue Light phones.
