About Us
The Title IX Office is an important part of the University’s efforts to foster an environment of respect and belonging.
Who we are & what we do
The Title IX Office frequently consults with members of the University community about their concerns and questions related to sexual misconduct. Our office acts as a resource for the entire University community.
We respond to reports from impacted individuals, mandatory reporters, bystanders, and others dealing with concerns about Title IX prohibited behavior which can include sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and related retaliation.
We assess and respond to impact from prohibited behavior(s) occurring across the University, and work to create a culture of consent for all.
We operate through a trauma-informed and non-biased lens throughout our process, focusing on support, neutrality, and fairness for those involved.
We educate and engage our campus community in understanding important and often legally required topics like sexual assault prevention, affirmative consent, building healthy relationships, respecting boundaries, and learning how to be a BADASS Bystander.
We explore all resources and options available
Individuals may be aware of other campus resources, but Title IX can assist further by making direct connections to off-campus resources and providing information about participating in a University grievance process or informal resolution.
Supportive measures are unique to each person and can include educational conversations, No Contact Orders, housing changes, extensions on deadlines or other course-related adjustments, connection to counseling, work adjustments or others. Supportive measures must be appropriate, reasonably available, and free of charge.

The Title IX Team
Title IX Coordinators: The University has a designated Title IX Coordinator and seven (7) Deputy Title IX Coordinators who can answer questions and assist you with reporting options and resources. The Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Coordinators ensure that the process for addressing complaints of sex discrimination and sexual harassment is handled promptly and equitably, with fairness to everyone involved. They make certain that anyone who comes to them understands their rights under Federal Title IX in conjunction with University policy and has the information they need to determine what to do next. However, they do not investigate or adjudicate claims.
Civil Rights Investigators: The Civil Rights Compliance team within the Office of Equity and Inclusion conducts fair, neutral, and impartial investigations into all reports submitted involving Discrimination and Harassment based on a protected class (Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Discriminatory Employment/Service Practices “PADH”) in addition to formal complaints of any prohibited behaviors as defined in the Title IX Policy.
Prevention and Education Staff: Our prevention and education team is responsible for envisioning, designing, and implementing evidence-based programming, trainings, and outreach on the topics of sexual misconduct prevention, awareness, and Title IX compliance in collaboration with University and community partners to Undergraduate and Graduate students. Our staff creates sexual misconduct prevention programs and projects, tailoring the content to fit each school’s educational needs within the University’s pedagogical standards, frameworks, and value statement.
Student Employees: Additionally, the Title IX Office employs an Undergraduate student each year to help further the prevention work of our office and to connect more directly with their peers.
Administrative Staff: Our office would be NOTHING without the support of our Administrative staff who keep the office organized, manage and schedule events and meetings, help send outreach to students, and much more.
