UR Makers Night Event: Hardware Store Prototyping

By November 14, 2014Dark Blue

The UR Makers club is hosting an event “Hardware Store Prototyping: How $14.75 at the hardware store beats $5,250 of corporate engineering expense” on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. in the Rettner Hall Fabrication Studio. Jim Schwarz, president of Ralph C. Schwarz & Sons, a company that sells and services laboratory and test equipment, and Mark Wilson, founder of Initiatives Consulting, LLC and lecturer at the Simon Business School, will share samples and stories about how playing around with mock ups, building rapid-prototypes, developing quick tests, and demolishing products has paid off in the world of new product development. Your interest in the 3D-printing and maker revolution make you an excellent “hardware store prototyper!” Positioning this passion correctly can help you get a great job in the world of new product development! The event is free and open to the University of Rochester community. Registration is not required.
