Allergy Injection Services at UHS

UHS patients (including all UR Students) and employees of the University of Rochester may be able to receive their allergy injections at UHS. Allergy injections are given by appointment during specified times when a physician or nurse practitioner is on-site.

Please Note: Patients receiving allergy injections at UHS are required to wait at least twenty minutes after receiving their injection to observe for a possible allergic reaction.

Initial Consultation: Before you begin receiving allergy injections at UHS, please schedule an appointment for an initial consultation. This appointment should be scheduled at the UHS office where you will receive your allergy injections. You can receive your allergy injections at any one of our three offices (i.e., River Campus Office, Medical Center Office, or Eastman School Office). You are asked to come to the same office each time you receive allergy injections.

When you come for your initial appointment, please bring the following:

Scheduling an Appointment: Call UHS at 585-275-2662 to schedule an appointment. Please let the receptionist know which UHS office works best for you. You will receive your allergy injections at the same UHS office every time. Please note appointments for allergy injections can only be scheduled when a physician or nurse practitioner is on-site.

INSURANCE COVERAGE:

For Full-time Students:
The mandatory health fee covers the cost of your visit to UHS. You will, however, need to provide your own allergen extracts and peak flow meter, which will be stored at UHS for you.
