UHS Staff Psychiatrists

The University Health Service (UHS) has two psychiatrists on its staff. Visits with the UHS psychiatrists are covered by the mandatory health fee. A referral from your primary care provider at the University Health Service or a therapist at the University Counseling Center is required before an appointment can be scheduled.

Please speak with your primary care provider or therapist if you would like to be seen by a UHS psychiatrist. Call UHS at 585-275-2662 to schedule an appointment with your primary care provider. Call 585-275-3113 to schedule an appointment with a therapist at the University Counseling Center.

Michael Christie, MD

Michael Christie, MD joined the University Health Service in July 2016. Dr. Christie graduated from Haverford College and completed a Post-baccalaureate Premedical Program at Bryn Mawr College. Since receiving his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, he has completed residencies in both Family Medicine and Psychiatry, as well as a fellowship in HIV/Family Systems at the University of Rochester. Dr. Christie is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is Board-Certified in Psychiatry/Neurology, Addiction Medicine, and Family Medicine.


Christine M. Chruscicki

Christine M. Chruscicki, MD joined the University Health Service in November 2012 as a Staff Psychiatrist. Dr. Chruscicki graduated from the University of Rochester in 1990 with a BA in Biology and BA in Psychology. She received her medical degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine in 1995. She completed both her Adult Psychiatry Residency in 1998 and her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship in 2000 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. She is Board-Certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She received a faculty appointment as Clinical Senior Instructor in Psychiatry, in the School of Medicine and Dentistry effective September 1, 2012. She is a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, the Monroe County Medical Society, and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
