National College Health Assessment Launching February 19th

On February 19th, a random selection of full time undergraduate and graduate students will receive an email with a personal invitation to complete the National College Health Assessment. Results from this survey research study will help UHS better understand student well-being and will be used to develop new programs and surveys.

  • Complete the survey on any computer, mobile device, or tablet.
  • It only takes 20 – 25 minutes.
  • You can start and stop anytime, on any device – your data saves automatically.
  • If you stop before completing the survey, please go back and finish it before March 8.
  • Your responses are confidential and voluntary.

All students who complete the survey will be entered into a random drawing to win one of five $100 gift cards to the campus bookstore.

Study Purpose

This research study is being conducted by the University Health Service (UHS) in conjunction with the American College Health Association (ACHA). This study will provide UHS with information about the health behaviors and attitudes of University of Rochester undergraduate students. This research study has been approved by the University of Rochester Research Subjects Review Board (Study #00009008).

Study Procedures

The study involves an online survey that will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. You are encouraged to complete the survey in one sitting. The survey can be taken on a computer, mobile device, or tablet. Some questions are of a personal nature concerning health behaviors such as substance use and sexual activity. You may choose not to answer any question.

Confidentiality

Your responses to the survey are completely confidential. There will be no way to link your answers to any identifying information. If you consent to participate in the survey, you will give your consent by clicking on the link to the survey site. The link is at the end of this email message. Your responses will be transmitted electronically. Data transmission is encrypted and firewall securities are in place.

Voluntary Participation

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. You can decide not to participate or to withdraw at any time, for whatever reason, without risking loss of present or future services you receive at the University or University Health Service. Your responses will be kept strictly confidential.

Risks/Benefits

This study has been reviewed by the Research Subjects Review Board at the University of Rochester and has been determined to be of minimal risk to participants. While there are no direct benefits to you for participating in the study, you will be making a contribution to helping the University Health Service better understand the health care needs of U of R students.
