Katy Dorsheimer, PhD, Director of Training, University Counseling Center. Dr. Dorsheimer joined UCC as the Director of Training/Staff Psychologist in 2019. She completed a master’s degree in Community Counseling and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany, SUNY. She completed her predoctoral internship at California State University, Long Beach Counseling & Psychological Services and went on to complete her postdoctoral fellowship at Claremont University Consortium Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services. Dr. Dorsheimer has worked for the University at Buffalo, SUNY’s School of Public Health and Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Department of Psychosocial Oncology. She has served as a staff psychologist at the University of California, Riverside and the University of California, Irvine campus counseling centers as well as for the Semester at Sea study abroad program.

While she is a generalist who seeks to meet the needs of diverse groups of students, she has provided specialized outreach and counseling to LGBTQ+ students, survivors of sexual violence, students with chronic health concerns, and student athletes. Dr. Dorsheimer is a licensed psychologist in NY.
