XPS provides both elemental and chemical state information of virtually any material on a surface (1-10 nm).
- Application areas: polymers, biomaterials, catalysts and petrochemicals, paper, coatings and thin films, and others.
- Technical features: high energy resolution, multi-point spectroscopy, Ar+ ion mill depth profiling, 2D imaging, angle-resolved XPS (ARXPS), ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), ion scattering spectroscopy.
- Special feature: a glove box system attached to the entry port which allows analysis of air- and moisture-sensitive samples.
