Recently, 113 semi-finalists were announced in the 2014 43 North $1 million business plan competition. Ten of those semi-finalists are from the Rochester area. Four of those are connected to University of Rochester technologies.
Raland Therapeutics, Inc. (Fairport, NY) has licensed three technologies from the laboratory of Spencer Rosero, M.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine (Cardiology Division). Raland has developed implantable cell-embedded biosensors that provide better, more physiologically relevant data to address needs in the preclinical R&D markets. They have integrated their core expertise in implantable biosensors for animals in the preclinical research space
with the long-term goal of addressing human disease.
