RTA Memoranda of Agreement
Key to the University’s work at East is an instructionally focused collective bargaining agreement with the East Upper and Lower School teachers. Each school has its own principal and governance council. The memoranda of agreement that follow include as an appendix the sections of the existing Rochester Teachers Association (RTA) agreement that apply to East. The most important features of this agreement are an emphasis on collaboration, professional learning and shared practice. All East teachers not only create but share lesson plans and data. Teachers are provided not only with individual time for planning, but time for collaborative planning as well. Teachers may be required to participate in up to 20 days of professional development during non-school hours.
