NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Information Session

NSF faculty reviewers and NSF GRFP fellows will lead a discussion on successful application strategies for this prestigious fellowship. Graduate students who are in the process of applying for the fellowship now or are considering applying in October, 2020 are invited bring questions to our expert panel. Attendees who are not already familiar with the fellowship should review eligibility and program details below prior to the session. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch to the session.

About the Fellowship

The NSF GRFP provides awarded fellows a $34,000 annual stipend for 3 years and a $12,000/year cost of education benefit that is applied towards tuition, health insurance, mandatory health fees.

Eligibility requirements include:

• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident.
• Applicants must be studying in an eligible STEM field (including social sciences, life/natural sciences and engineering).
• Undergraduate seniors and bachelor's degree holders may apply before enrolling in a degree-granting graduate program.
• Graduate students enrolled in a degree-granting graduate program are limited to only one application to the GRFP, submitted in the first year or at the beginning of the second year of their degree program.
