Nancy O'Rourke (MS) writes that she is practicing internal medicine as a nurse practitioner while completing a doctoral program in herbal studies. She also is an adjunct faculty member for the School of Nursing. She lives in Rochester with her husband of 18 years, Michael, and their twin sons, 15.

Jane Ruby (MS), assistant professor in the Nazareth College department of nursing, received the 1999 Rochester Academy of Medicine Library Award for her paper "Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell and the Origins of Female Professionalism." Ruby is the current vice president of the Genesee Valley Nurses Association and secretary of the Epsilon Xi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society in nursing. She has served as the vice president of the board of directors for the American Heart Association in Rochester, and is a legal nurse consultant and president of the New York State Women's Justice Center.
