WINTER WRAP-UP

The women's basketball team capped off its season by winning the Eastern College Athletic Conference Upstate New York tournament. Rochester, seeded third in the four-team field, defeated Union College, 59-47, in the semifinals, then beat top-seeded Nazareth, 71-66, in the title game.

Anne Gotstein '02 was named MVP. She had 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals in 25 minutes in the title game. She had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the semifinal win over Union. Katie Harrington '04 had 20 points and 20 rebounds in the two wins (11/11 vs. Union, 9/9 vs. Nazareth).

Guard Jen Wafer '01 hit five of six 3-point goals and led Rochester with 15 points (in 17 minutes off the bench) in her senior finale against Nazareth.

The Yellowjackets won six of eight down the stretch to post their best record since 1993-94 (which was the last time the Yellowjackets won an ECAC
title).

Men's Basketball: Rochester finished 14-11 and claimed some of its biggest wins on the road. The Yellowjackets knocked off third-ranked Washington, 66-56, in St. Louis. In mid-February, Rochester defeated NYU, 71-63, winning for the second time in three years in Manhattan. The Yellowjackets finished as the runner-up in the Chase Scholarship Tournament. Andy Larkin '04 was named UAA Rookie of the Year.

Squash: The Yellowjackets made a strong run in a post-season tournament, finishing as the runner-up in the Conroy Division of the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association championships.

Women's Swimming & Diving: Rochester finished second in the UCAA championships, seventh in the UAA championships, and was 7-2 in dual meets.

Men's Swimming & Diving: The Yellowjackets were fourth at the UCAA championships, seventh at the UAA championships, and 4-4 in dual meets.

Men's Indoor Track & Field: Rochester finished fifth at the New York State championships and 10th out of 57 schools at the ECAC championships.

Women's Indoor Track & Field: The Yellowjackets won against 9 of 10 opponents in the dual meet season. They finished 12th at the New York State championships and in the top half of the field at the ECAC championships.
