Peter Allard is director of sales and marketing for the Carlsbad, Calif., office of Sunex, a digital imaging optics company. . . . Joseph ’97W (MS) and Renee Santino Bailey ’98W (MS) write that they welcomed their third daughter, Isabella Margaret, on October 9, 2002. “Isabella joins sisters, Julia and Olivia, and dog, Biff. Everyone is doing well,” they note. . . . Ron Gerber ’92 (MS) e-mails: “Hi to all of my former colleagues at WRUR. I started there as a freshman, and 16 years later, I’m still in radio, now in Minneapolis. Some of you may remember a show called Crap from the Past, which started on WRUR in 1992. It’s now in its 11th year on the air, it’s syndicated with affiliates in the United States and New Zealand, and it’s the oldest retro pop show on the Minneapolis airwaves. Would love to hear from any WRUR-ers—drop me a line at ron@crapfromthepast. com. . . . Matthew Shair is a professor of chemistry and chemical biology at Harvard. He earned his Ph.D. from Columbia in 1995 and has been at Harvard since then. In 1999, he was named by MIT as one of the top 100 innovators under the age of 35. . . . Kenneth Stack ’96 (PhD), ’00S (MBA), has been named vice president and general manager of the digital division of Flint Ink. He was previously director of inkjet printing systems at Eastman Kodak Co. . . . Melissa Nagel Wetzler and her husband, Andy, write to announce the birth of their second child, Tyler Frank, on August 5, 2002. He joins his brother, Gabriel, 3.

Jennifer Luce Sartor (see ’89). . . . Jim Sefcik writes: “On September 18, 2002, I found myself in the hot seat! I was selected to be a contestant on the new syndicated version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Fellow alumni Andrew Bosco and Dan LaFiandra were two of my lifelines.” . . . Molly Stahlman is the president and founder of Molly’s Trolleys, a sightseeing company with operations in Pittsburgh and West Palm Beach, Fla.

Richard and Christine Ellison Colalucca write to announce the birth of their first child, Erin Claire. Christine is a senior human resources business analyst for the University, and Richard is a claims representative for Safeco Insurance. . . . Philip Nel, assistant professor of English at Kansas State University, published The Avant-Garde and American Postmodernity, an exploration of the cultural change from modernism to postmodernism. . . . Geoffrey Sears writes that he married Ingrid Haynes in 2000, and the couple had a baby girl on July 12, 2001. . . . Todd Sherwood became engaged to Jane Brody on December 20, 2002. The couple is planning an August wedding. Todd is an orthodontist in Closter, N.J., and Jane is a coordinator of volunteer initiatives at United Hospital Fund in New York City . . . . Sandy Williams, who skied in the 1988 Calgary Olympics and won a silver medal at the 1992 U.S. National Championships, has joined the coaching staff of the racing team at the member-owned Hunt Hollow Ski Club near Naples, N.Y. He is the executive director of Morgan Stanley’s private wealth division.

Thomas McKevitt has been named vice president for property treaty reinsurance at Allied World Assurance Co. . . . Pete Parshall (see ’94). . . . Michael Posner ’94 (Take Five) writes that he married Wendy Smith on August 18, 2002. In attendance were Clinton Holcomb, David Flores ’95, Jon Epstein, Judy Gendler Epstein, and Dmitri Hoffmeyer. “I am ABD working on the Ph.D. in biostatistics at Boston University while I do a lot of teaching on the side. I hope to finish my Ph.D. within a few years and then move on to full-time teaching. In my nonprofessional life, I am still playing volleyball and Frisbee and have taken on a serious hobby of ballroom dancing. I have traveled all over the country dancing at national competitions and have placed in the top five couples in the country in the American style of dancing for the past two years. Both my statistics and my dancing started back at the good old U of R!” . . . Emily Sebert is vice president and general counsel at @stake, a digital security consulting company. . . . Caryn Schenker Solomon writes that she and her husband, Adam, had a baby boy on April 2, 2002. “His name is Noah Jay, and he is so much fun,” Caryn notes. “I am taking time off from teaching to stay home as a full-time mommy and loving every minute of it. Nicole Kane Fasold and her husband, Peter, also had a baby boy. Matthew Ted was born on July 4, 2002.” . . . Mark Wilson, associate attorney at Harter, Secrest & Emery, was chosen as one of the “40 Under 40” business and community leaders by the Rochester Business Journal.

Michelle Carroll married Brian Westlake on August 24, 2002, in Auburn, N.Y. Both are physical therapists: she at University Hospital in Syracuse; he at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. . . . Philip Kusnetz is a senior associate at Edelman, Goldstein, Green & Bashner, a New York City law firm specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice. . . . Beckey Wennergren Parshall ’95 (MS) writes: “My husband, Pete ’93, and I welcomed our second child, Sophia Noelle, on March 6, 2002. Sophia joins Sarah, who will be 3 years old in April. I am enjoying my time with the girls and Pete is a senior design engineer with Alstom Signaling in Henrietta, N.Y. Keep in touch with us at wennergren@msn.com.” . . . Rabbi Rebecca Pomerantz Shinder and her husband, Larry, sent a photo to announce the birth of their son, Jeremy Todd, who was born on June 10, 2002. Rebecca writes: “Jeremy is a fan of all music, especially a cappella, and his mom, the musical director of Vocal Point (1993–94), hopes that one day he’ll be a Yellowjacket!” . . . Michael Stead writes that he has completed his M.S. degree in strategic intelligence in the Washington, D.C., area.

He joins big brother, Marc, 2 1/2. “I am presently a full-time household engineer in Versailles, France, where I live with my French husband, Vincent,” Martha says. . . . Paul and Thanh (Tanya) Giang Sargent sent a photo to announce the birth of Gwendolyn Rose, the couple’s second child, who was born on February 5, 2002. Their son, Joshua, turned 3 in March. . . . David Thiel, vice president and director of new business development at Auragen Communications, was chosen as one of the “40 Under 40” business and community leaders by the Rochester Business Journal. . . . The first memorial golf tournament named after Zhe (Zack) Zeng ’98S (MBA), who died helping victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, raised $1,075 for the Brighton (N.Y.) Volunteer Ambulance. Zheng was a volunteer for the ambulance group while a student at Rochester.

Joann Farrell and Harold Quinn were married on August 10, 2002, in Fulton, N.Y. Joann is an equity portfolio manager and head of trading operations at the Great Companies of Tampa, Fla. Harold is a personal fitness trainer. . . . Steve Green married Lisa Price on September 29, 2001, and sent a photo from the festivities. Ian Sanchez was best man, and Renan Levine performed a dramatic reading from the Song of Solomon. Also in attendance were Connie Chen Sanchez ’97, Rachel Bickford, and Belinda Lanyk. The couple lives in Arlington, Va. . . . Richard Pearson sent a photo of his “dramatic” marriage proposal to Elizabeth Albankis. He proposed to her from the stage of the College of Staten Island Center for the Arts, interrupting (with permission) the set of performer Sean Altman. Rich is a project engineer at Dana Engine Management in Northvale, N.J., and Beth is a medical biller for Prompt Care in Clark, N.J. They are planning a November 14 wedding. . . . Sonia Robertson and Matthew Garner ’95 were married August 10, 2002, in Alpine, N.Y. She is an attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York City and he is a postproduction director at Miramax Films in New York. . . . Ian Sanchez (see ’97). . . . Christopher Webb writes: “I hosted a very successful opening reception for my July 2002 exhibit of charcoal and oil pastel drawings at the Middle East restaurant in Cambridge, Mass. Chuck Fisher and Steve Markofsky attended the event.” . . . Stephanie Ziegler ’99W (MS) and Michael Chiumento ’98 were married on June 15, 2002, in Syracuse. Stephanie works for Spencerport (N.Y.) High School, and Michael works for Rogers Enterprises.

I must say, it is a very cool book for women in our age (20s–30s) cohort doing some spiritual soul searching.” . . . Michele Spilberg e-mails that she and Victor Hart are planning a July 5 wedding.

Cathy-Lynn Hansen and U.S. Air Force Captain Adrian Cancel Jr. write to announce that they are planning a July wedding. Cathy-Lynn received her M.A. from Seton Hall University in May 2002. Adrian is stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California. . . . Archana Manohar and Wesley Johnson ’00 were married on May 18, 2002, in Potomac, Md. The guests included Benjamin Judkins, Mike Johnson, Julie Shav, Paolomi Mukerji, Melanie Shui ’99, and Karen Braxton ’00. Archana is completing her D.D.S. degree, and Wesley is completing his master’s degree in public administration, both in the Washington, D.C., area. . . . Joe and Nicole Laudisio Tamer ’99 wrote last December to announce that they were expecting their first child, Abigail Rose, in January. . . . Chad Yoder married Amanda Brown on July 20, 2002, in Palmyra, N.Y. Chad is a sales support engineer at Proven Designs Inc. in Macedon, N.Y.; Amanda is a kindergarten teacher for the Rochester City Schools District.

Brenda Burke and Ruben Garnica are planning a June 1 wedding. Brenda is pursuing a doctorate in organic chemistry at the University of California at Irvine; Ruben has received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the Irvine campus. . . . Terisa Foster and Kurt Flick send an update: They were married October 13, 2002, in Mitchellville, Md. In attendance were Mike Caskey ’97, Erin Keitzman, and Jason Walrath. Terisa is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, and Kurt is a research assistant at the University of Maryland at College Park, where he received his master’s degree in 2001. . . . Rohit Gandhi writes: “I’m very excited to announce that I’ve opened my own Arby’s franchise in Elizabeth, N.J. I hope some of my old classmates can stop by and say hello!” . . . Jason Hammersla writes that he and Jason Menkes earned credits in the 2002 movie The Rules of Attraction: Menkes as music production coordinator and performer and Hammersla as coauthor of the song Boogie Man Boogie. . . .
