1952

Norman Neureiter has received the Public Welfare Medal, an award from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. Neureiter is the director of the AAAS Center for Science, Technology, and Security Policy.

1958

Mason Ahearn writes that he was installed last October as president of the Society of Medical Consultants to the Armed Forces. His Army career has included duty tours with the 82nd Airborne Division, as a Green Beret in Pakistan and Vietnam, as chief of orthopaedic surgery at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center, and as a hospital commander in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War. He retired as state surgeon in the South Carolina Army National Guard and is nearing civilian retirement as a practicing orthopaedist in Georgetown, S.C.

1959

Carolyn (Ern) Ernst Bryant sends a photo of herself (on the right) and Barbara (Tenney) Tennant Phelps ’60N, taken on a 2007 trip to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. They’ve taken several annual trips together, visiting Italy, Greece, Turkey, France, Switzerland, and Alaska.
