Sheldon (Shelley) Drogin ’72 W (MA) writes that she was named president of the Leadership Institute of Seattle, a center for leadership education, offering master’s degrees in leadership and organization development and systems counseling. . . . Murray Pollack has joined Phoenix Children’s Hospital as chief medical officer, chief academic officer, and vice president of medical affairs. . . . Elliot Richman ’75 (PhD) sends a photo of himself with his son, Daniel Richman ’08, taken during Meliora Weekend 2006 in the Goergen Athletic Center. Daniel will graduate with a BS degree in physics and BA degrees in mathematics and music. Elliott writes that the pair “have both enjoyed earning their five Rochester degrees over a total of 13 years at the University.”

Richard Eisenberg has been named an of counsel attorney with Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, a law firm headquartered in Garden City, N.Y. His litigation experience includes contracts, securities fraud, anti-trust, insurance coverage disputes, and criminal matters. . . . Anita Schubert announces she is the cantor at Temple Beth Sholom in Manchester, Conn.

1974

Stephen Teich writes that he has received the Blockley-Osler Award for excellence in clinical teaching, as voted by the 2007 graduating class of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He’s completing his 25th year in the practice of cardiology at nearby Abington Memorial Hospital and lives in Dresher, Pa., with his wife, Susan, and children, Elise and Brian. . . . Our apologies to Rise Zywotow Birnbaum. We incorrectly reported the recent honor she received from the Washington Business Journal. The newspaper included her in a list of 25 “Women Who Mean Business.”

Ron Shapiro writes that he has been elected as a fellow in the American Psychological Association.

1976

Harriet Washington has won a PEN Oakland-Josephine Miles 17th Annual National Literary Award for her book Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present.

1977

Craig Evans sends a photo of alumni who got together January 31 at Michael Jordan’s Steak House in New York City. Pictured right to left: Bob Osieski ’78S (MBA), Denis O’Leary ’78, Barry Swidler, Bob Miller, Craig, Larry Thaul, and Jeff Margolis ’78S (MBA). . . . Rose Lewis, a print and broadcast journalist and the author of two children’s books, has been named director of marketing and communications at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham in Needham, Mass.

Margie Segal Gorman reports she has opened her own consulting practice. Margie specializes in branding and marketing for financial services and cultural organizations. She lives in Moorestown, N.J., outside Philadelphia, with her husband, Scott, and two teenaged children. . . . Marjorie Krumholz was appointed partner-in-charge of Thompson Coburn’s Washington, D.C., office. Her practice focuses on maritime and equipment finance. . . . Denis O’Leary (see ’77).

1979

Mark Bergman writes that he has been elected as president of the Warren County (N.Y.) Association of Realtors, as well as region vice president of the New York State Association of Realtors. He is a broker and owner of Bergman Real Estate. . . . Michael Rosenberg and his wife, Lori Aks Rosenberg ’81, write that their daughter, Rebecca, was accepted early decision and will attend Rochester this fall in the Class of ’12. Rebecca follows in the footsteps of her parents, grandfather Franklin Aks ’55, and uncle Steven Aks ’83.
