Strong a National Magnet for Care

The number of children’s heart surgeries performed at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong has increased five-fold in seven years, thanks to an outstanding pediatric cardiac surgery program led by surgeon George Alfieris.

With outstanding results and close attention to patient satisfaction, the program is one of a growing number of Medical Center clinical programs attracting more patients from outside the area. Since 2000, the number has risen 46 percent, as families from throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe take advantage of specialty services including organ transplant, cancer treatment, bariatric surgery, and ophthalmology care.
