Themes of interest include nanophysics, quantum information, transport, and random processes in nature. Nanophysics addresses fundamental physical problems that occur when a macroscopic object is miniaturized to dimensions at the nanometer scale.

We also work on zero-dimensional systems such as self-assembled quantum dots; fabrication at the nanometer scale; photonic materials; molecular beam epitaxy. We integrate such nanostructures with photonic materials and study the coupling between light and matter.

Current areas of interest include solid-state artificial atoms (quantum dots), microcavities (photonic crystals), and solid-state cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED).
