Academic Program Guidelines

Program assessment and review are designed to foster continual improvement of programs and support student achievement.

As part of the assessment cycle, academic degree programs:

  1. Identify the key learning outcomes (knowledge, skills, or competencies) that students will be able to demonstrate upon successful completion of the program.
  2. Design courses and learning experiences that provide opportunities for students to achieve the learning outcomes.
  3. Assess student achievement with respect to the intended outcomes.
  4. Use the assessment data to continually improve teaching and learning.
