LEAP Family Access

Learning and Exploring at Play (LEAP) is an exciting learning opportunity for kindergarten through fifth grade students that live in the city. The children work with University of Rochester tutors to develop their literacy, math, science, and social skills in an active, creative, flexible, and open learning environment. Children are exposed to topics through play-based activities to build children’s confidence, skills, and love of learning.

In this program your child will be partnered with a University of Rochester undergraduate student who will serve as their tutor throughout the year. Your child will develop a close, positive mentor relationship with their tutor. Individual mentoring also allows tutors to discover your child’s unique interests and abilities, and cater sessions to your child’s learning goals.

Each team of tutors is supervised by a Team Leader. If you have questions or concerns about the program or your child, you can speak with the Team Leader or the LEAP Coordinator.
