Robert L. and Mary L. Sproull Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sciences and Engineering
Donald Hall, a respected scholar and experienced administrator, became dean of the faculty on July 1, 2018. In this leadership role, he is responsible for AS&E, one of the University’s core academic units.
Gloria Culver
Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences
As dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, Gloria Culver handles matters relating to the arts and humanities, social sciences, and natural and physical sciences departments and programs.

Wendi Heinzelman has been a proven administrator, a researcher of international distinction, and an award-winning teacher since joining the University of Rochester in 2001.
Beth Olivares
Dean for Diversity in Arts, Sciences and Engineering
In her role, Beth Olivares is concerned with issues of equity and climate, and seeks to improve diversity in all the different domains of the University, including students, staff, and faculty.
Jeffrey Runner
Dean of the College in Arts, Sciences and Engineering
Jeffrey Runner is responsible for 16 offices and centers in Arts, Sciences and Engineering that focus on areas including academics, research, undergraduate support and advising, student life, and diversity.
John Tarduno
Dean for Research in Arts, Sciences and Engineering
As dean in one of the University’s largest research units, John Tarduno helps lead efforts to increase research production at Rochester and improve public awareness of the innovative work being conducted by its scientists and scholars.
Nick Vamivakas
Dean of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs
As dean of graduate education and postdoctoral affairs (GEPA), Nick Vamivakas oversees the administration of over 40 master and doctoral degrees and postdoctoral trainees across Arts, Sciences and Engineering and provides programming and services to support the social, career, and educational needs of our graduate and postdoctoral learners.
