What to Expect This Week

Online classes begin Wednesday, March 18. Students should be receiving information from faculty on how classes will be conducted online through the rest of the semester. Depending on individual classes and format, adjusting to online courses may take a few days. Have general questions about online learning? A new website from the University’s Department of Online Education can help answer some common questions.

You should also be aware of the important information shared by Dean Jeff Runner last week.

  • For everyone’s safety, students should complete the semester remotely at their permanent home residence (unless they are unable). Any student applying to stay on campus must request an exemption by Wednesday, March 18.
  • Students are expected to leave campus by Sunday, March 22. Residential Life Area Offices will be open regular business hours this week, with weekend hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 21–22. All checkouts will be express—requiring students to pick up an envelope at their Area Office, complete the information printed on the envelope, and leave their keys in the designated secure drop box for their area.
  • Reimbursements of room and board charges will be pro-rated as of March 20. The April billing statement will reflect these adjustments. Credits on your student bill as a result of this adjustment for room and board will have no impact on financial aid packages.
