COVID-19 Vaccinations for 2021–22 Academic Year

The University will require all students enrolled for the 2021–22 academic year to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students who wish to receive the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine in May can call University Health Service (UHS) at (585) 275-2662 to schedule a nurse appointment. Appointments are available at the Medical Center and at various sites in the Rochester area to get the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

All students enrolled for the 2021–22 academic year and who plan to be on campus are expected to have received an approved vaccine—both doses if getting a two-dose vaccine—by August 1. This requirement applies to all schools, regardless of when their students are on campus, as well as to all students who live either on-campus and off-campus. More information about the policy can be found here.

Students will be asked to provide proof of vaccination by uploading documentation to UHS via UHS Connect. Instructions for uploading a document to UHS Connect are available here. Students who have not set up an account to access UHS Connect can email HHF@uhs.rochester.edu to request a registration letter. Please note UHS only recently began using student ID numbers for UHSConnect. Anyone who used UHS before last year but not this year will need to email UHS for their UHS Connect ID.

Vaccine, Testing Reminder for Commencement Activities

Graduating students need to submit proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test—from within 72 hours—before attending commencement events. This will also be required for participation in select Senior Week events like the Red Wings game and “Day at the Vineyard.” Please note that all remote students returning to campus will be required to submit this documentation to participate in commencement.

Students must complete the initial one-shot vaccine or the second dose of a two-shot vaccine by May 4 to fulfill eligibility by vaccination. Testing will be available through UHS during Senior Week for those who are not fully vaccinated. Students must upload this documentation to UHS via UHS Connect. Find instructions on how to upload a document to UHS Connect here.

Students who have not set up an account to access UHS Connect can email HHF@uhs.rochester.edu to request a registration letter. Please note UHS only recently began using student ID numbers. Anyone who used UHS before last year but not this year will need to email UHS to find out what their UHS Connect ID is.

With attendance at commencement ceremonies being limited to graduating students and the University faculty and staff needed to manage commencement events, a message was sent last week to parents of students in the Class of 2021 with information on how students and their families and friends can help share the excitement of the day.

Complete the Mailing Address Form for Diplomas by May 19

Graduating seniors must submit the Mailing Address Request Form by Wednesday, May 19. Not submitting the form will delay the delivery of your diploma.

Diplomas will be mailed the first week of June and should arrive at their destination in 4 to 6 weeks. You will also receive an email in June regarding the availability of a CeDiploma, a Certified Electronic Diploma to purchase and download if desired. You will not be able to request a CeDiploma until the email stating that it is available for download has been received.

If you have an international address, be sure to submit your address exactly as required by any delivery service for your country, including an international phone number. If a diploma does not make it to the destination provided on the form it will be the student’s responsibility to pay for a second shipment, international or domestic. Diplomas will not be mailed to a campus CMC mailing address.

A reminder that subject-specific and general study space rooms will be available for use through 6 p.m on Friday, May 14, to support the need for study space during finals.
