10TH REUNION
OCTOBER 12-15, 2000

Joseph '97 (MS) and Renee Bailey '98W (MS) e-mail with the announcement of their second child, Olivia Grace, born on December 16, 1999. "Olivia joins her sister, Julia, 21/2, and her dog, Biff," the parents write. . . . Paula Casey married Eric Metzler on January 2 in Penfield, N.Y. She is a Monroe County attorney to supervising Judge Patricia Marks; he is an attorney with Gould and Peck in Rochester. . . . Dwayne Day reports that he has finished his Ph.D. at George Washington University and that his book, Eye in the Sky, was published in paperback and is being translated into Chinese. . . . Patrick Delany and his wife, Colleen, send an e-mail to announce the birth of their first child, Patrick John, Jr., born January 5 and weighing in at 7 lbs., 14 oz. . . . Edward (Russ) Kenyon e-mails that he and his wife, Heather, live in Canandaigua, N.Y., where he practices law. . . . James Maynard writes that he is a database administrator for Advanced Digital Information Corp. in Redmond, Wash. . . . Melissa Nagel Wetzler and her husband, Andy, e-mail that their son, Gabriel Henry, was born on November 10, 1999. . . . "It's been a busy year," e-mails Joella Dady Wind. "I was relocated with Bell Atlantic to open a new business account management center in the Boston area last January (1999). My husband, John, and I now live in Shrewsbury, Mass., and are proud to announce the birth of our twin girls, Erin Grayce and Sydney Catherine, on June 6, 1999. We're all doing great."

Sharon Conrad and David Frost '92 were married on July 10, 1999, in Webster, N.Y. She is an instructor in employment training at the International Institute of Boston, and he is a senior medical resident at New England Medical Center in Boston. The couple lives in Jamaica Plain, Mass. . . . Elizabeth Dunn sends an e-mail: "I'm on a new European adventure. I have a fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Study in Berlin, where I'm finishing my book. I brought my partner, Barbara, and my two dogs with me, and we're having a blast! Does anyone know where Chris Dulnikowski is? We're looking for her." . . . Kellie Shields Fredericks and her husband, John, e-mail an announcement of the birth of their daughter, Leah Riley, on January 20. Leah joins her older brother, Benjamin, who was born in May 1998. . . . Julia Gonzalez has joined the law firm of Bracewell and Patterson, LLP, located in San Antonio, Tex., as an associate in the labor section. . . . Carolyn Weisberger e-mails that she is vice president of PNC Advisors, a part of Pittsburgh National Corp., and that she also teaches business law for the University of Pittsburgh and Chatham College. "I look back to Rochester friends, education, and days with fondness. I hope that this note finds everyone happy, healthy, and enjoying the pursuit of life," she writes.

Melissa Apple e-mails: "Well, after three tries, I finally qualified to run in the Boston Marathon by clocking a 3:36 at the Chicago Marathon." She also wanted Boston alumni to watch for her in the race. "I'll definitely be wearing something with 'UR' on it!" she notes. . . . Simone Bergstein writes that she and Craig Wiener plan to marry in October. Simone is a buyer at Lord & Taylor; Craig works in institutional sales for foreign exchange at Chase Manhattan Bank. The two live in Manhattan. . . . Amy Best e-mails that she is living and teaching in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also writes that she will be getting married in Cleveland in July. . . . Leslie Firtell was featured on Good Morning, America last fall as a volunteer in a weeklong experiment in which her only contact with the outside world was by computer and credit card. She reports that she received more than 1,600 supportive e-mails during the exercise, including a number from Rochester friends. Firtell was quoted in the New York Daily News about her experience: "There really is a whole world out there online, and I couldn't believe how much attention I got." . . . Betsy Willard Lytle e-mails an update: She and her husband, Jim, had their first child, Margaret Rose, on December 14, 1999. Betsy also notes that she is nearing completion of a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University. . . . Jennifer Ranck e-mails that she is working in New York City at the Blackstone Group and has plans to move to Jersey City soon. . . . Scott Rohring sends an e-mail that he has moved back to Buffalo from Albany and joined Hodgson, Russ, Andrews, Woods, and Goodyear, LLP, as an associate in the healthcare and general corporate practice. He reports that he, his wife, Becky, and their daughter, Kathryn, are all doing well, and that the family is expecting a new baby in May. . . . Marine Captain Michael Sullivan spent the 1999-2000 holiday season assigned to Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron One, deployed to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. . . . Jeff Weisberg '94 (MS) e-mails that OpNet, an Internet service provider that he and his sister, Melissa '95, founded in 1994 in Bryn Mawr, Pa., has merged with NetReach, Inc. of Ambler, Pa. Weisberg, the CEO of OpNet, has been named chief financial officer of NetReach.

Andrew Bowler e-mails to say that he and Jessica Miller '94 are engaged and plan a May wedding. The couple lives in New York City, where Andrew is in his first year of the M.B.A. program at Fordham University's Graduate School of Business. Jessica is a healthcare consultant and has an M.B.A. from CUNY's Zicklin School of Business in association with the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. . . . Jonathan Epstein sends an update: He is a staff reporter, covering banking, credit cards, and financial services, for the Wilmington (Del.) News Journal, a 150,000-circulation statewide newspaper. He's been there since September 1997. He also writes that he and Judith Gendler '94 are engaged and plan a June wedding in Buffalo. Judy is an epidemiologist for the state of Delaware's Division of Public Health. . . .

the George Washington University School of Medicine in May. Kelly has a master's degree from Boston College and is a national retirement policy analyst with the Social Security Administration. . . . Joseph Orenstein e-mails that he and his wife, Meggan Clark Orenstein '92, have a new son, Frank Clark, born on November 2, 1999, in Fort Knox, Ky. Joseph is working in the office of the Staff Judge Advocate and has been selected for promotion to captain. . . . Ana Perez and Shawn Tooker were married on April 10, 1999, in Rochester. The two work at Xerox Corp. in Webster, where she is a mechanical design engineer and he is a manufacturing supervisor. . . . James Plath e-mails that he is living in New York City and is creative director at Agency.com. . . . Deborah Swetts Sarama e-mails that she received her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy on May 20, 1999, and is completing a one-year pharmacy practice residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, Md. . . . Meredith Schneider married David Horowitz on November 20 in Lawrence, N.Y. . . . Emily Filler Sebert e-mails that she has moved back to Boston and taken the position of assistant general counsel with Zefer Corp., an Internet start-up company. Lindsay Cadwallader, an attorney in Maine, is serving a two-year tenure as representative counsel for low-income parties in family law cases as part of a fellowship program created by the Maine Bar Foundation. She was one of only two attorneys selected in 1998 as a Frank M. Coffin Fellow by the foundation. . . . Maya Crosby e-mails that after finishing her master's of science degree she is now working at Bowdoin College, where she teaches microbiology and developmental biology labs. "We live in a cabin on the coast of Maine, which means we get to partake in a passel of outdoor fun and the critters get to sleep in front of the wood stove when the snow falls," she writes. Frederick Beer, Damir Saracevic, and David Thiel, founders of Auragen Communications, Inc., a Rochester-based provider of strategic Internet, intranet, and extranet consulting and services for businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, were profiled in the Democrat and Chronicle in January. . . . Tricia Cohen married Jason Pantzer on October 30. Tricia is an associate in the real estate department at the New York law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges. . . . Adam Keats e-mails that he and Renee Radbill '94 are engaged and will be married on October 29 in Baltimore. . . . Aaron Kneiss (see '97 undergraduate). . . . Richard Koehler e-mails that he has finished medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and is doing his residency in general surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. According to Richard, there was a great University of Rochester reunion at a cabin in the Poconos this past fall celebrating the wedding of Delila Khaled. In attendance were Mike Davies '97 from Houston, Dave Maris from Steamboat Springs, Colo., Russ Loeber, Keith Hart '96, and Ben Whitestone '98 from Boston, Sam Turano '96, Pete Davis '97, Bob Beatrus, Vlad Efros, Miranda Berner '96, and Tali Salomon. . . . Patricia Polidori has received the National Italian American Foundation/Robert J. DiPietro Scholarship. She attends the Yale University School of Nursing. . . . Jennifer Robin writes that she will be participating in a Borders Books reading tour along the West Coast to promote her first published novel, Bouzi. The tour was to begin in January. Jennifer is living in Portland, Oreg., and reports that she has a weekly spoken word show, Night of the Living Tongue, on KBOO 90.7, community-sponsored radio. She also helps coordinate an experimental music and performance-art night at clubs and cafes in the Portland area. . . .

Shay Austin e-mails that she and Matthew Leary celebrated their second wedding anniversary in 1999; they were married in September 1997. Bridesmaids at her wedding included Rochester friends Josie Schultz and Shannon Kendall. The Learys live in Rhode Island, and Shay is attending law school in Boston. . . . Beth Brenner e-mails to say that she married Rochester native Jonathan Rose on May 29, 1999. University friends in attendance at the wedding were Alexis Barist '95, Joseph Blatt '95, bridesmaid Jill Baboff Heller '95, '96 (MS), Bruce Heller '95, bridesmaid Robin Weinberg '95, Melissa Weisberg '95, and Sean Brenner '93 (brother of the bride). Beth reports that she moved one-and-a-half years ago from New York City to Philadelphia and has worked with Christie's, the international auction house, since November 1996. Joann Farrell e-mails that she is living and working in Manhattan. She is an international institutional sales trader for Raymond James Financial. . . . Keith Hart reports that he has recently been appointed to the Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism by Maryland Gov. Parris Glendenning. Keith is the program coordinator for the Western Maryland Alliance for Service and the A STAR! Americorps Program. . . . Sylvaine Logeais married David Pomonti (MS) on July 9, 2000. The couple is living in France.

"I think that it would be a great time for past HEOP and ECO students to return to campus and reconnect with the current black and Latino students. The bride is a graphic designer at ADD, Inc., an architecture firm in Cambridge, Mass. The groom is a software engineer for Fujitsu-Nexion in Acton, Mass. He is currently pursuing his master's degree at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. The couple lives in the Greater Boston area. . . .
