2000

David Gass ’03W (MS) writes to announce his graduation from SUNY Buffalo Medical School and residency in pediatrics at New York University. At his school’s honors convocation, he received the James Goldinger Teaching Leadership Award, which goes to the graduating senior who both shows the most promise to be an academic physician and demonstrated the most effective teaching during four years of medical school. David writes, “It was voted on by my peers at the medical school and then among the nominations, a committee picked the winner. It was a wonderful honor and I am proud to continue my love of teaching and medicine as I move onto the next level in my career.”. . . Meredith Pelton sends a photo from her August 2006 wedding to Christopher Clancy. Alumni in attendance included Chetan Gulati ’99, bridesmaid Lauren Michaels Korn, and former Rochester professor Sam Nelson. The couple lives in Santa Fe, N.M., where Meredith practices real estate law.

Lisa Olender writes that she graduated from her master’s program in Boston in May 2006 and has become a physician’s assistant. She works at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in neurosurgery. . . Sharon Henrie Shatil writes that she and her husband, Ohad, who studied abroad through Rochester in 1999, welcomed their first child, Maya Elena, on February 20, 2007. . . . John Vernaleo (see ’02).

2002

Beth Goldman sends a photo to announce her marriage to John Vernaleo on June 17, 2006, in Long Island. Pictured with them are maid of honor Kimberly Griswold and best man Dennis Vernaleo. Alumni in attendance included Christopher Root, Monica Snitily, Mike Shulman, Craig Roberts ’00, K.J. Dziak ’04 (MS), Peter Miller ’01, Greg Schmidt ’01, and Heidi Mergenthaler ’03. . . . Sandeep Raghow writes that he has been accepted into medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

2004

Michael Adelman and Melinda Morrison ’05 were married on April 21, 2007, in North Conway, N.H. They send a photo of Rochester friends at the ceremony: Kaeti Stoss and Marie Guido ’05 were bridesmaids, Dan Blake ’06 was a groomsman, and George Flevares ’99 was best man. Richard Schermeyer ’04, Micha Elsner ’05, Gordon Arsenoff ’06, Jessica Schulman ’07, Catherine Krafft ’07, Matthew Bonyak ’07, and Jamie Frank ’09 were also in attendance. Michael writes, “The picture doesn’t do justice to how gorgeous the weather was that day, but it does get everyone in the picture.”
