International Students

Immigration Documentation

The University’s International Student Services Office (ISO) is a great resource for accepted international students looking for help with visas and other documentation, as well as adjusting to life on campus. Students can reach out to ISO for assistance once they have received an acceptance letter.

Paperwork for Incoming International Students

Incoming international students are typically issued an F1 Student visa, some students may be eligible for J-1 visas. More information on visas can be found on ISO's visa page.

Both J-1 and F-1 visas permit international students pursuing full-time academic study at a college or university in the United States, however there are differences between the two programs.

International students who require immigration sponsorship as an F-1 or J-1 student should complete the New Student Intake Form. This form and detailed instructions can be found on the International Services Office (ISO) website.

The ISO is unable to issue necessary immigration documents without complete and accurate information.

Tax Information for Current Students

Every international student, scholar, and employee present in the United States during the calendar year (January 1– December 31) must file a tax return by the following April. Even if you did not earn income, all nonresidents for tax purposes must report their presence in the US.

ISO’s taxes, SSNs and ITINs page outlines everything you need to know to be compliant.
