URDU makes it almost all the way at Vanderbilt tournament

UR Debate traveled to Nashville, TN this past weekend to compete at the Vanderbilt University British Parliamentary debate tournament. Both teams reached elimination rounds with winning records in preliminary rounds: Madeleine Fordham and Mindula Suriyabandara finished as Semifinalists while Sabeet Kazmi and Charles Ndlovu finished as Quarterfinalists. Debaters also had excellent individual performances: Madeleine Fordham finished as 7th speaker overall, Mindula was 3rd ESL speaker, Sabeet was 7th ESL speaker, and Charles was 3rd Novice speaker.

Onward to more competition this month! Next: URDU travels to Atlanta, GA for the Social Justice Debates Championship at Morehouse College.
