2017 Spring Sports Wrap-Up Continued

        SOFTBALL (21-15, 6-6 LIBERTY LEAGUE)                   •   Four Yellowjackets earned UAA All-Academic: Mevorach, Andrew Nunno ’18,
                                                                  Jun Yuminaga ’18, and Fujimaki
        Team Highlights                                        •   Tanmay Thakkar ’20 and Nunno won at third doubles against NYU at the UAA
        •   The Yellowjackets had an impressive start to their season defeating Staten   Championships
           Island and Franklin College in Orlando              •   Fujimaki earned a singles win at the #2 position
        •   The University of Rochester finished their spring break trip 9-3, which is the
           best in program history.
        •   The Yellowjackets had a six-game win streak and defeated regionally ranked   WOMEN’S TENNIS (13-7)
           Ithaca 5-3                                          Team Highlights
        •   The women finished the year ranked sixth in the NCAA Regional Rankings  •   The Yellowjackets took all six positions in singles play beating RPI 7-2, St.
        •   Rochester defeated RPI, the eventual champions of the Liberty League, 10-1   Lawrence 7-2, and William Smith 8-1
           in 5 innings
                                                               •   The women had an impressive performance in Puerto Rico winning 8-1, 8-1,
        Individual Highlights                                     and 9-0 in their matches
        •   Sam Malecki ’17 had her first career no-hitter against Lancaster Bible College   •   The ’Jackets defeated central division ranked John Carroll University and
        •   Six Yellowjackets were named All-Liberty League—First Team: Harleigh   nationally ranked Oberlin College
           Kaczegowicz ’19 and Eleni Wechsler ’17; Second Team: Jocelynn Blackshear   •   The Yellowjackets ended their regular season defeating local rival RIT
           ’18, Shelby Corning ’17, Lydia Petricca ’20, and Rachael Pletz ’19  9-0 and having a seven-game winning streak before entering the UAA
        •   Kaczegowicz was named First Team Academic All-District by CoSida and also   Championships
           finished the year batting .436, which is fifth in program history   •   Rochester finished with a #13 Northeast ranking and a #35 National Ranking
        •   Wechsler set the program record in career shutouts with 22  by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)
                                                               Individual Highlights
        MEN’S TENNIS (9-12)                                    •   Sravya Gudipudi ’20, Alex Wolkoff ’19, and Darby McCall ’17 were double
                                                                  winners against William Smith College
        Team Highlights                                        •   The ITA ranked Camila Garcia ’19 at #24 in the Northeast in singles and
        •   The Yellowjackets defeated regional opponents Ithaca College and St.   ranked Garcia and Lauren Zickar ’17 at #13 in the Northeast in doubles.
           Lawrence University                                 •   Wolkoff was selected as the UAA’s women’s tennis Athlete of the Week
        •   The men were very successful in Puerto Rico winning all three of their matches  following her performance against Oberlin College and John Carroll University
        •   The ’Jackets swept Union College 9-0               •   Four Yellowjackets were named UAA All-Academic honorees: Mariana Flores
        •   Rochester finished the season ranked #18 in the Northeast by the NCAA  Kim ’17, Zickar, McCall, and Garcia
                                                               •   Gudipudi was awarded All-UAA Second Team for #2 singles, and Garcia and
        Individual Highlights
        •   Masaru Fujimaki ’19 and Aaran Mevorach ’18 were ranked #15 in doubles in   Zickar were awarded All-UAA Honorable Mention for #1 doubles by the UAA
