Anna Bognolo and her husband, Raj Ballie, live in London, where she is head of marketing account service at Christie's London headquarters. She writes that they would love to get together with University friends passing through London. . . . David Cole and his wife, Yvonne, write that they have a new son, Daniel Patrick, born on March 30, 2000. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz., and measured 22 inches long. According to David, the baby responds well to classical music and the play-by-play of hockey games on TV. . . . Glen Goldstein has been named vice president of strategic alliances and services at Analine.com, a Boston-based business-to-business e-commerce site for environmental services. . . . Robert Hession married Lauren Jacobitti '96S (MBA) in Perinton, N.Y., on September 11, 1999. Robert is a global account manager at MCI WorldCom in Charlotte, N.C. Lauren is manager of Internet strategies at Xerox Corp., also in Charlotte. . . . Emil Kang was named interim president of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in December. A violinist, Kang has served as vice president for operations of the orchestra. . . . Robert Weissman e-mailed that he and Ariana Calderon had a July 2, 2000 marriage date.

John Caplan married Jill Schwartztol on December 12, 1999, in New York. He is the senior vice president for marketing at About.com, an Internet service located in New York City. . . . Sylvia Hysong e-mails: "Just wanted to make a brief announcement: After five years at Rice University in Houston, Tex., I will be receiving my Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology this May. Oh, yes. And to my dear friend, Hollis Phillips '92 (MS), who has spent the last three years in Korea--welcome home!" . . . Laura Mellberg '93 (MS) writes that she married Air Force Capt. Steven Nessmiller at Ft. McNair in Washington, D.C., last spring and that classmate Theresa Olszewski Waldorf '92 was in attendance at the wedding. "The highlight was a fly-by from the presidential helicopter during our vows," she adds. The couple lives in northern Virginia but plans a move to Sunnyvale, Calif. . . . Travis Miller '92 (MS) and his wife, Amanda, write to announce the birth of their son, Evan Ramsay, born April 28, 2000. He weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. at birth. . . . Brian and Stefanie Baker Mittman write to announce the birth of their third child, Sophie Hannah, sister of Noah, 4, and Zoe, 3. They also send congratulations to Stephanie Kline Newberg '92 on the birth of her daughter, Amanda. . . . Edward Trabulsi married Karen Roll on May 28, 2000, in Snyder, N.Y. He is a resident in urologic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Brian and Elizabeth Dugan Bowes '94 write to announce the birth of their first son, Timothy Nelson, on March 13, 2000. They ask: "Future Yellowjacket?". . . Marcie Etscovitz and some Rochester friends gathered in January for a night of celebrating at The Parlour in New York City, and she sent along a photo: (back row, left to right) Eric Lambert, Eric Barbanel '93, and Ed Gold '93 (PhD); (front row, left to right) Etscovitz, Elana Blumenthal, and Marni Kleinman Fried. . . . James Feldman e-mails that he is licensed to practice law in both New York and South Carolina. He has his own practice in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and he married Karyn Seesan on May 13. . . . Dori Markoff e-mails that she is engaged to Noel Sedransk with a year-end wedding in the works. The couple lives in New York City. . . . Michael Mitchko and Anne Whitney were married on October 9, 1999, in Rochester. Michael is a physician of internal medicine at Canandaigua Medical Group in Canandaigua, N.Y. . . . Eben Norfleet and Kristin Lewis were married on October 16, 1999, in Rochester. Both are attorneys in the Syracuse-Oswego area. . . . John Palermo married Ingrid Schumann on May 8 in Rochester. John is an associate with the Trevett, Lenweaver & Salzer law firm in Rochester. . . . Doreen Gilmartin Waldbieser '92E and her husband, Mike, e-mail that their first child, Amanda Lynn, was born October 28. Doreen adds: "Maybe she'll graduate from Rochester in the year 2020!"

David Barnes writes that he has received his M.B.A. from the University of Washington at Seattle and will be joining Arthur Andersen Consulting after a month of traveling in Africa. . . . Nicole Bernard '95 (MS) has been named to head the new China office of Internet Pictures Corp. She oversees sales, operations, and customer care. The company specializes in creating and delivering pictures on the Internet. . . . Deborah Berson married Stephen Parnes on May 6 in Wilton, Conn. Deborah is a senior consultant at Vintage Resources, an executive recruiting company in Manhattan. . . . Eric Hadsell has joined the Boston law firm of Burns & Levinson, LLP, as a member of the trusts and estates group of the probate practice group section. . . . Raymond Javdan, formerly an attorney with the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court (First Department), has joined the New York office of Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP, in the firm's litigation group. . . . Paul Loosman has been designated a real estate property administrator, a designation made by the Building Owners Managers Institute. He is currently director of property management for Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services in Pennsylvania, where he oversees the property management division. Paul lives in Waverly, Pa., with his wife, Beth, and their daughter, Maggie. . . . Jon Minken '94 (MS) e-mails that he has moved to Los Angeles, where he is a marketing manager in the new products division at the biotechnology company Amgen. . . . Matthew Peck has joined the Cleveland office of the law firm Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP, as an associate in the corporate and securities practice group. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions, public and private financing, and general business matters. . . . Caryn Schenker married Adam Solomon on October 9, 1999, in West Hartford, Conn. Caryn writes that a number of Rochester alumni were in attendance: Nicole Kane was a bridesmaid, and Caryn's brother, Jonathan Schenker '98, was a groomsman. Pamela Simon Adelman '94 and her husband, Bob Adelman '95, Adam Brown, Andrea DeNeen Cox, Hillary Fitilis, and Katherine Osborn Casey '92 were all guests. Caryn works for Fairfax County (Va.) public schools as a special education teacher, instructing middle school students with learning disabilities. Adam is an Internet consultant and president of Capital Design Productions. The couple lives in Washington, D.C.

Diane is pursuing her doctorate at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, N.Y.

Stuart Bushman e-mails that he left Lockheed Martin Space Systems in March to take a position as a research scientist at the Air Force research lab at Edwards Air Force Base in Lancaster, Calif. In his new position, he designs and tests electric propulsion systems to control spacecraft. . . . Matthew Hawes e-mails: "The completion of my Navy commitment arrived rapidly and I am left without regrets over my time served." He plans to begin his studies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law this fall. He sends a message to friends: "To those who think I am insane to leave the South and attend law school in the Northeast, let's just say I miss the Rochester weather." . . . Meredith LeVande has launched a tour of the East Coast, performing solo with her acoustic guitar. She also has released a CD of her songs titled Through the Clouds. Included in Starbuck's Coffeegrind Series, her music has been compared to artists such as Jonatha Brooke, Natalie Merchant, and Sarah McLachlan. Jennifer Greenberg e-mails that she graduated from Boston College Law School in 1999 and is an associate attorney at Bourbeau, Tocchio & Floyd in Boston. She reported that a September 17 marriage to Joshua Weissman was planned. . . . Keith Hart writes that he is a commissioner with the Maryland Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism. Ramón Rivera-Servera e-mails that he was awarded a Ford Foundation Doctoral Fellowship from the National Research Council. Kathleen (Kate) Friend e-mails that she is living in San Francisco and graduated from Hastings Law School last May. . . . Lisa Keomuongchanh married Paul Stump '95S (MBA) on May 28, 2000, in Brighton, N.Y. Lisa is a credit derivatives analyst at Citigroup of Citibank and Paul is a securities investment associate at Deutsche Bank. They both work in New York City. . . . Heather Lantz writes that she is attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. . . . Heath (Hap) Phillips writes that he is attending the M.B.A. program this fall at Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management and plans to study e-commerce and operations. . . . Carrie Rosen writes: "I was recently engaged to Alex Helderman '96. I graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in May, and after taking both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar exams, I will be an associate in the labor and employment department of Philadelphia law firm Cozen & O'Connor. Alex is a member of the Pennsylvania bar and is currently a law clerk for the Honorable Adolpho Birch, Jr. on the Tennessee Supreme Court. Alex will enter the Philadelphia law office of Schnader, Harrison, Segal, and Lewis as a second-year litigation associate this fall. A June 2001 wedding is planned.". . . Jay Vecsey e-mails that he moved to Atlanta in 1999 with his wife (they got married in March 1999). After working for a small consulting firm specializing in food and beverage industry engineering and project management, he began working this March with Law Engineering. He reports that he's taking his engineer-in-training exam this fall. He hopes to earn his professional engineer license in a few years.

Erik Cox is in his third year of law school at the George Washington University Law School. He e-mails that he worked for the law offices of Plato Cacheris in Washington, D.C., this past summer doing high-profile white-collar criminal defense work. . . . Judith Currano e-mails that she completed her master's degree in library and information science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 1999. She is the head of the chemistry library at the University of Pennsylvania. . . . Michele Grady sends an update: She has completed her second year of law school at American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. During the 2000-01 school year she will be a student attorney in the criminal justice clinic at the law school. During the fall semester she will be representing defendants in Maryland and, in the spring semester, she will prosecute defendants on behalf of the Maryland State Attorney's Office. . . . Michael Villa e-mails that he is in his second year of law school at Syracuse University, where he also is getting a master's degree in international relations.

Brian Kutner e-mails: "Go class of 1999! We were super! I will remember my wonderful classmates always!" . . . Abram Naperstek is a member of the first graduating class to participate in the Coro Center for Civic Leadership Fellowship Program in Pittsburgh. The fellows participated in a nine-month intensive program of leadership training that included hands-on work positions with local business, labor, government, political campaigns, and educational institutions. While a Coro fellow, Abram worked with the Community College of Allegheny County, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Allegheny County Democratic Committee, and the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
