1980
Jeffrey Stone has been named 2003–04 chair of the municipal and school law committee for the Erie County Bar Association. He is a partner in the Buffalo office of the law firm Hodgson Russ.

1981
Edmond Burke ’82S (MBA) is an admissions volunteer for Rochester. “I enjoyed the privilege of representing the University as an alumnus volunteer at the Virginia Beach City Public Schools college night on October 27, 2003. I spoke to about 30 high school students and about 20 parents. I’m looking forward to doing it again next year.” . . . The White House has announced that Brian Roseboro will be nominated to become Treasury undersecretary for domestic finance. He joined the Department of the Treasury as assistant secretary for financial markets in 2001 and has been acting undersecretary for domestic finance since October 2003.

Neil Halin (see ’84). . . . Columnist Steve Nearman profiled the late journalist George Plimpton last fall in The Washington Times. . . . Mark Quinlan ’85S (MBA) has joined Charter One Financial as senior vice president and chief information officer. He will oversee the company’s information technology division. . . . Mike Rosato ’89S (MBA) has been promoted to vice president of key accounts for telecommunications provider Choice One Communications, headquartered in Rochester.

1984
John Brod has joined the Syracuse office of CDM, a consulting, engineering, construction, and operations firm, as regional business manager. . . . Lisa Cohen, who maintains a physical therapy practice in Watertown, Mass., e-mails that she has rekindled her interest in writing poetry and is a moderator of a critique forum at www.wildpoetryforum.com. Her own poetry is at www.bluemusepoetry.com. Lisa and her husband, Neil Halin ’82, vacationed last year in Watkins Glen, N.Y., where she says Neil indulged his passion for high-performance driving by attending the race track’s driving school. . . . Tom Grasso, director of marine conservation policy for the World Wildlife Fund, was the 2003 recipient of the Atlantic Salmon Federation’s Lee Wulff Conservation Award for his work to protect wild Atlantic salmon. An environmental attorney, Tom has held positions with the National Wildlife Federation, the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, and the Union of Con-cerned Scientists. . . . Stephen Kapner writes that he is a “furloughed pilot from United Airlines. Need an experienced pilot? Please call (510) 336-9253!”

1985
Michael Livingston e-mails that he was married in June 2002 to Jeanette Thompson, and they have moved from Rockville, Md., to Germantown, Md., where they became homeowners for the first time. He says, “So far, married life has been great, but owning a home has its ups and downs, especially last winter when 25 inches of snow fell over Presidents Day weekend. The first winter where I have to shovel my own snow since the 1980s, and we get the biggest storm in this area in 25 years!” . . . Gerard Michel ’88S (MBA), ’88M (MS) has been named chief financial officer of NPS Pharmaceuticals. He was vice president of corporate development before being named CFO. Gerard will be based at the Parsippany, N.J. office. . . . Forrest Strauss continues to investigate and prosecute attorney misconduct cases as a principal staff attorney for the New York State Grievance Committee (9th District) in White Plains, N.Y. He lives in Orange County with his wife and their two children.

1986
Randy Bell e-mails, “I was recalled to active military duty as deputy program manager of the joint space-based radar satellite program at the Los Angeles Air Force Base. After serving five years in submarines, I left active duty and worked at the Department of Energy, where I was most recently the director of space and remote sensing systems. Now I’m back in uniform (they still fit!) at the rank of commander, living a block away from the ocean in Manhattan Beach, Calif.” . . . Paul Milkman joined Fannie Mae in September 2003 as vice president of information security. Previously, he worked in security at IBM. . . . Lorna Cialdella Morehead ’90S (MBA) and her husband, Chuck, announce the birth of their first child, Malachy Aloysius, on April 14, 2003. . . . Peter Woods has been named associate general counsel for ESL Federal Credit Union. Previously, he was an associate in the real estate department of Rochester law firm Nixon Peabody.

1987
Russell Hudyma ’88 (MS) has joined the scientific advisory board of Cymer, a San Diego–based supplier of excimer light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing. . . . Keith Kupferschmid, vice president of intellectual property policy and enforcement for the Software & Information Industry Association, testified before Congress last fall on behalf of the Coalition Against Database Piracy on the need for legislation to protect against misappropriation of databases.

1988
Will Greene writes that after a stint in the Navy he attended graduate school at Villanova University. While in Philadelphia, he was an active rower with the Pennsylvania Athletic Club and coached two university teams. After retiring as a competitive oarsman, Will worked as an attorney in Philadelphia for seven years, but the pull of the sport was too strong. He is now head coach of Rochester’s crew program. . . . Bakari Kitwana ’90 (MA), ’90W (MAT) spoke in October 2003 at Nazareth College about student activism and the hip-hop generation. He has written two books about hip-hop and teaches a course on it at Kent State University. . . . John O’Connor was named partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Steptoe & Johnson. He and his wife, Kristina King O’Connor ’89, live in Alexandria, Va., with their 2-year-old daughter, Nora. . . . Sandra Gould Wartski attended a minireunion with a group of classmates, Deborah Wuttke, Carol Brandt Hager, and Kathi Lyford Thibideau, last June in Emerald Isle, N.C. “We had a great time seeing each other and catching up on our lives over a nice ‘girls’ weekend’ together,” she writes.

Jon Nezezon (see ’98). . . . Michael Ochs married Maureen Frickanisce on October 25, 2003. He is an engineer and program manager at Science Applications International, and she is an engineer with General Dynamics, both in Virginia. . . . Kristina King O’Connor (see ’88). . . . Christian Schulitz (see ’90). . . . Robert Weissflach ’89 (MA) has joined the Buffalo office of the law firm Harter, Secrest & Emery as a partner. He focuses on labor and employment litigation.
