THEN
Dandelion Day is one of the longest-running traditions in the University of Rochester's more than 170-year
history. The dandelion is one of the University's symbols and this festival is a celebration of spring and the end
of the academic year. For students and faculty alike, it's a welcome break from the stress and pressure of a long
year, and an opportunity to gather one last time before classes end. What began as a picnic on the lawn has
become a day of fun, food, rides, music, and fireworks.
