COVID-19 research.

URMC clinicians and researchers have
been at the forefront of the global race

to develop an effective coronavirus
vaccine. They’ve tested three of the
major vaccines, two pediatric vaccines,

and third-dose booster vaccines to
protect against emerging variants.
mRNA technology used in the

vaccines is rooted in decades of
infectious disease research conducted
here. URMC researchers also recently

launched a clinical trial to adapt the
technology for a seasonal flu vaccine.
