Who is someone that inspired you during your time on campus?
My older sister, Zamantha. Being a first-generation student and the first of three siblings to attend college, she never let fear or the unknown get in her way. From starting a mariachi group and bringing our culture to Rochester to graduating with a degree in chemical engineering, she showed me that the University has a place for everyone—even if you need to create that place.
How do you describe the University of Rochester to someone who’s never visited?
Imagine a combination of Harry Potter and Narnia and you get the University of Rochester!
What was your favorite Rochester experience?
My favorite experience as both a student and now as an alum would have to be Meliora Weekend. It captures the university's essence and brings everyone from students, families, alumni, staff and faculty together!
What advice would you give an incoming student?
Try anything and everything the school has to offer! You never know what you might be missing out on if you never give it a shot.
