Our Young Alumni Councils were formed to help keep you – Rochester’s recent graduates – connected and involved.

Young Alumni Opportunity Fund

URochester offers grants through the Young Alumni Opportunity Fund to offset the cost of young alumni-hosted gatherings. The application opens in December each year, with approved gatherings hosted between February and June.

Young Alumni Perks Program

Have fun. Make an impact. Choose your reward. Attend at least one event (virtual or in-person) and make a donation of any amount to any fund before June 30 to qualify. Those who complete the Young Alumni Perks Program can select a FREE University of Rochester swag item from a private web store exclusive to young alumni. Participate year after year to stay connected and earn (ever) better perks!

How can I get involved with the University as a young alum?

There are many meaningful ways to stay connected and engaged as a young alum—whether you want to connect socially, give back, or support current students:

    • Attend an alumni or campus event to connect with classmates, meet fellow graduates, and stay involved with University life.
    • Make a gift to the area of the University that matters most to you. Every gift makes a difference.
    • Volunteer your time by conducting alumni admissions interviews, becoming a Real Reader, joining the mentorship program, or hosting a gathering with your Rochester friends through our Young Alumni Opportunity Fund.
    • Stay in touch by updating your contact information, submitting a class note to share a life update, or following the University and Alumni social media accounts.

No matter how you choose to participate, your involvement helps strengthen the alumni community and the University as a whole.

What benefits and services are available to me as a young alum?

As a young alum, you enjoy access to a full suite of University alumni benefits and services, including career resources such as The Meliora Collective, lifelong learning opportunities like our virtual book club, campus and online resources such as complimentary visitor parking and continued library access, and special discounts on insurance and other partner services.

How long do I continue to have access to my u.rochester.edu email account?

Existing student-to-alumni Google accounts will continue to be supported by the University through December 31, 2029. Alumni can also opt-in to receive a branded, limited storage email address (@urgrad.rochester.edu) any time after graduation. To request an account, contact us at alumni@rochester.edu.

How can I request my transcript or academic records?

Through a partnership with the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), URochester students and alumni can order both electronic and hard copy transcripts online through the NSC Transcript Ordering Center at a nominal fee depending on the delivery option selected. To learn more, click here.

How can I update my contact and/or employment information?

You can update your contact and employment information by visiting the Update Your Information page and submitting one of the two forms based on your location. Keeping your information up to date ensures you receive alumni news, event invitations, and benefit communications from the University.

How do I find young alumni events near me?

Visit the alumni events calendar to see upcoming virtual and in-person events. Filter by location to find events near you. Check individual event listings for special ticket discounts available to young alumni and make sure you keep your mailing address and contact information updated to get emails about events near you!

How can I stay updated on University and alumni news?

Visit the University's News Center for the latest headlines and alumni stories. Follow the University and Alumni accounts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X to reconnect, rediscover, and reminisce with fellow URochester alumni.

How does URochester define “young alumni?"

Young alumni are individuals who have received an undergraduate degree from URochester in the past 10 years. The Young Alumni Councils, Young Alumni Perks Program, and Young Alumni Opportunity Fund are all available exclusively to this group.
