About

Welcome to #RochesterGives, a place where University of Rochester alumni, parents, and friends can explore the impact of giving to the University of Rochester and its Medical Center, and to make a gift of any size to an area of the University that is meaningful to them. From academic programs to healthcare, and scholarships to student-led projects, your support will help make life better for the University community and the world. It will help move the University of Rochester forward and emerge even stronger.

The University of Rochester and its affiliates are 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organizations. All gifts made through #RochesterGives are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. 100% of your gift will go to the area or project you choose to support.

Starting a Crowdfunding Project

Crowdfunding is an important way to connect students, faculty, and staff with innovative ideas and meaningful projects to alumni, friends, and community members who may be interested in supporting them.

If you wish to start a crowdfunding project to be featured on the #RochesterGives site, please refer to the instructions and guidelines below:

Student Crowdfunding

All student crowdfunding projects must be pre-approved by Wilson Commons Student Activities. To begin the approval process, please submit a Student Fundraising Request form here. If approved for crowdfunding, the student will be contacted by a representative from the Annual Giving Programs department to initiate their crowdfunding campaign. Student fundraising proposals may be submitted any time from August 1 – May 1. For questions, please contact Kyle deManincor at kyle.demanincor@rochester.edu.

Faculty/Staff Crowdfunding

Faculty and staff with a compelling need for funds (typically in the range of $1,000-$10,000) may utilize the University’s crowdfunding platform. They must have department approval to fundraise and a University account. They should have a clear projects goal, a target audience in mind, and at least 5+ people willing to help push, share and rally around the cause. To initiate a crowdfunding project, please contact Jessica Baldwin at jessica.baldwin@rochester.edu.

Peer-to-Peer Event Campaigns

Peer-to-Peer crowdfunding campaigns are available to those seeking to use a peer-to-peer method to raise funds for walks, runs, and other group initiatives. For questions about peer-to-peer crowdfunding, please contact the Internet and Digital Technology team at idt@rochester.edu.
