This page contains application instructions for two separate processes: Graduate and Family Housing, and Valentine Tower–Southside Living for graduate and fifth-year students.

New this year, Valentine Tower is open to:
- Undergraduate students in their fifth year (Take 5, E 5, and students taking extra time)
- Master’s students
- School of Nursing students (both Master’s and Accelerated BSN programs)

Use the 'Rochester – Student SSO' button to log in. You will not be able to apply until you have access to UR Student.
Highlights
- Furnished suite in Valentine Tower, each student is on their own housing contract.
- The housing contract runs from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026.
- The contract is legally binding for the full 12-month term but will be canceled in cases of degree completion, leave of absence, withdrawal from the University, or any other change that affects student eligibility for University housing.
- Price: $16,438; Housing is billed through the Bursar's office by semester. Fall 2025 ($6164.00), Spring 2026 ($6164.00), Summer 2026 ($4110.00).
- Part-time 5th-year undergraduate students graduating in December may apply, provided they are enrolled in a minimum of 8 credits.

Housing Information for Graduate Students Applying for Graduate and Family Housing (Goler House, University Park, and Whipple Park):
Graduate and Family Housing is now utilizing StarRez for our housing application. The previous online form and PDF applications will not be accepted.
Before filling out the application, please review the Graduate Housing Policies and Guidelines and the application instructions.
Login Instructions: Go to the StarRez website
- If you are an enrolled or incoming student (able to log into UR Student), use the Rochester – Student SSO button.
- If you are not yet admitted or are a Postdoctoral, Professional Trainee, or Fellow, you must register for an account first. Click “Register here” to sign up. Once registered, use your new login credentials for future access.
- For incoming students: At some point after you become active in Workday, Graduate Housing will merge your StarRez account with your student account. Once this happens, your written login will not work and you will need to log in using the Rochester – Student SSO.
