  • Won the Merle Spurrier Award for contributions to women's sports in 1975

  • Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a baccalaureate degree in Biology in 1975
  • Earned M.D. from the University in 1979

Post-Graduate:

  • Associate Professor in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at the University of Minnesota
  • Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 1984-1985
  • Orthopaedic consultant to the women's varsity teams at University of Minnesota since 1987
  • Medical Director of Men's and Women's Varsity Athletics at the University of Minnesota since 1990
  • Team Physician for the USA Women's Ice Hockey Team at the 1992 and 1994 World Games
  • A member of the Big 10 Medical Committee (since 1989) and a representative on the NCAA Medical Safeguards Committee since 1991-97
  • Member President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (1994-2000)
