At Rochester:

  • A champion swimmer who was nationally-ranked throughout his career
  • A three-time All-American and team captain (1981-84)
  • Fifth in the US in the 100-yard backstroke during his career
  • Led the 1984 swim team to UR's first-ever conference championship
  • A 1984 NCAA D-III All-American in 100-yd backstroke
  • Two-time 400-yard Medley Relay champion (1982, 1984) and conference champion in the 200-yard individual medley (1984)
  • Competed in four consecutive NCAA D-III Championship
  • Held six Yellowjacket swim records at the time of his graduation (in 50, 100, and 200-yard backstroke; 100 and 200-yard IM; 400-yard medley relay)
  • Set 100-yd butterfly record as a freshman
  • Given the Louis Alexander Award
  • Graduated with a BA in economics

Post-Graduate:

  • Earned his MBA at the Graduate School of Management, 1988. JD, Vanderbilt School of Law, 1988.  
  • Started a law career in Houston
  • Joined the LB Capital in 1995, currently the Vice President and General Counsel
  • President of Bowers Properties, and the Governor-appointed Chairman of Teacher Retirement System of TX-Policy Committee
  • Married to Carin Marcy Barth and father of three children – Mitchell, Leslye and Melysa.
