  • Three-year starter at split end for the football team
  • Most Improved Offensive Player in 1973 and the Most Valuable Offensive Player in both his junior and senior seasons
  • 1974 Division III Honorable Mention All-American
  • Set five pass receiving records at the University of Rochester: most catches in an individual season, most catches in a career, most yards in a career, most catches in a game, and most yards in a game. Off the field
  • Rhodes Scholar Finalist

Post-Graduate:

  • Earned an M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical School and completed residency in orthopedics at Ohio State University Hospitals
  • Has been practicing Orthopedic Surgery in Myrtle Beach ever since
  • Is a published author and Member of Surgical Review, Utilization Review, and Trauma Committee at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center
  • Two time singles champion and three times doubles champion in tennis at the Dunes Club and still avidly hunts and fishes
  • Steve and his wife, Teresa, have three grown children and a young grandson
