At Rochester:

• Four-year letterwinner in track and field
• Excelled in the long jump-indoors and outdoors-and in varying sprint events
• His times in four events-60-yard dash, the 220-yard dash (straight), the long jump outdoors, and the long jump indoors-were school records at the time of his graduation
• His time in the 200-yard dash (curve) is a former school record
• His time in the 100-yard dash tied the Fauver Stadium record
• In 1969, he was the New York State indoor champion in the 60-yard dash and the long jump
• Was the State outdoor champion in the 100-yard dash, the 220-yard dash, and the 440 relay in 1969 and 1970
• Captained the team in 1970 and was a member of the 440 All-America Relay Team and the NCAA National Championships
