At Rochester:

  • Earned letters in football and track
  • Played both offense and defense on a team that set 6 one-game records, 7 one-season offense records, and seven one-season defense records
  • Wide receiver for three years and set a school record in all-time touchdown receptions
  • Moved to running back during his senior year and averaged 7 yards per carry
  • Undefeated in the 100-yard and 220-yard dashes from his sophomore, junior, and senior years, while also competing in the javelin
  • Set a school record in the 100-yard dash (9.9)
  • Captain of the track team his junior and senior years
  • Member of the Medicants honor society
  • BA in Physica

Post-Graduate:

  • Worked as an optical engineer at Graflex in Pittsford
  • Began graduate studies in Philosophy at UR in 1961 with an NDEA fellowship
  • Earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy in 1968 at Buffalo State University and is currently a professor there
  • Third person ever from Buffalo State to receive the Distinguished Teaching Professor award
  • Wrote Thinking Well About What Matters and published numerous scholarly articles in philosophy journals
  • Has a philosophical counseling practice that specializes in critical thinking and leadership development
  • Set a state record in the 45-50 age group in the 100m dash at the Empire State Games masters division (11.7)
  • Plays competitive racquetball
