At Rochester:

  • Exceptional two-time All-American runner in track & field and cross country, competing in all distances between 800m and 10km
  • Two-time steeplechase champion in 3000m and four-time national finalist
  • Set UR and NYS Track & Field steeplechase records that held for over 25 years
  • Qualified for every national meet in steeplechase and in cross country over his four-year career
  • Ran a record 2-mile Relay in both Indoor (8:01) and Outdoor (8:00) Track & Field competitions
  • Was the 1979 NYSCT&FA Indoor Intersectional Medley Relay Champion and NYSCC Finalist as Senior (12th)
  • Led UR to two undefeated seasons in Cross Country (11-0) and the team finished in NYSCC Championship Finals (8th)
  • Graduated with a BS in optics

Post-Graduate:

  • Worked for the US Department of Defense
  • Received an award for contribution on a night vision project
  • Moved to Switzerland in 1989
  • Continues to work in the field of optics
  • Married Zita and is the father of two children, Jenny and Chris.
