  • Won 75% of his singles matches, playing at Second Singles, and won more than 85% of his doubles matches, playing First and Second Doubles
  • Played freshman basketball in 1956
  • Competed in intramural basketball and squash for Theta Chi
  • Elected to Mendicants in 1959

  • Both degrees from Rochester-MS in geological sciences in 1962 and Ph.D. in 1966
  • Adjunct full professor, Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Utah, 1969-1985
  • Founder, vice president, technical director, and manager for Terra Tek, Inc. (1969-1980); an energy company
  • Helped found and direct the Pioneer Oil and Gas Co., 1980-85
  • Worked for Science Applications International Corp. since 1980 in a variety of roles, rising to senior vice president in 1994
  • Member of the American Geophysical Union, the Geological Society of America, Sigms Xi (the National Scientific Society), and the International Society for Rock Mechanics
  • Member of the University's Trustees Council since 1998
  • Chairman of the Peter Lyman Tennis Center, constructed to honor Rochester's longtime tennis and squash coach
